Upload or conversion not working?

Last updated: by PrimePDF Support Team

Upload and conversion failures usually trace back to a few common causes. Follow these steps in order. Most issues clear up within the first three checks.

Check file size

PDF and image tools on PrimePDF accept uploads up to 100 MB. See File types and upload size limits. for details. If your file exceeds the cap, try Compress PDF or divide it with Split PDF.

Verify the file format

Confirm the tool matches your file: PDF converters need a PDF, HEIC tools need HEIC photos, and so on. If the file came from another app, try exporting or saving it again. A fresh copy often resolves corruption or truncation from an earlier save.

Password-protected files

Password-protected PDFs may block processing. If you know the password, open the file locally and save an unrestricted copy before uploading. PrimePDF cannot remove passwords from files you are not authorized to access.

Empty or garbled text from a scan?

When pages are stored as images, converters return empty or garbled text. Run the file through Scan to Text.

Test your browser setup

  • Try PrimePDF in a private or incognito window.
  • Disable ad blockers and strict privacy extensions temporarily.
  • Check that your internet connection is stable.
  • Switch browsers or devices. PrimePDF works on desktop, tablet, and phone.
